Holiday Intimacy Ideas

The winter holidays can be a haven for romantics searching for intimacy! The following are ideas for finding the perfect opportunity to "frolic and be merry!"

If you don't have one already, rent a truck for the day (or two days for a weekend getaway!). Pile up the back with blankets, pillows, a cooler to store some food, propane grill (or something similar), hot chocolate and anything else you can think of. Find a rural area with limited lights and spend the night star-gazing in the bed of the truck together.

Many hotels offer special winter holiday packages. Do a little bit of research and find one that sounds perfectly romantic for you both. The better packages will offer: late check-out, dinner for two or breakfast in bed, champagne and roses upon arrival and/or an upgraded room, as well as other special offers. Make sure to ask the hotel what current promotions they have. Then, whisk your love away for a night or two of romantic, holiday luxury. Take time to browse through the hotel's lobby to view their Christmas decorations and/or ask for a list of nearby places which display holiday lights.

Make your own advent calendar! Each day until Christmas, leave a note describing the intimate gift you will be giving them later that night. They in turn do the same. You can be as daring (or not) as you like! A few ideas include: "Tonight, I will kiss every inch of you."; "I've been making my list and checking it twice trying to find out if you'll be naughty or nice..."; etc.

At least two times before the holiday season is over, make plans to have breakfast in bed together, even if it means you both get up to prepare it and then go back to bed. The time spent together talking and enjoying each other's company will do wonders for your relationship.

When you go out to buy Christmas or other holiday gifts, always get something small to give to your other half early. Depending on how often you go out shopping, you could have quite a collection. When you're ready to give them their treats, plan a treasure hunt with you waiting at the end.

Plan a Christmas Movie Date Night. Rent a few romantic Christmas movies and cuddle together all night long. You might try purchasing an air bed and laying on that in your front room! Some suggested movies: Jack Frost, While You Were Sleeping, Sleepless In Seattle

Remember, intimacy isn't always just about going out of your way to do be close to your partner. It's also doing the little things everyday, like kissing under the mistletoe, saying "I love you," and leaving your partner no doubt of how much you love them. These things may not seem like much, but they sure go a long way!
